Privacy policy

Offline features and on-device information

Taipu does not require an account and does not include third-party advertising, analytics, or tracking SDKs.

Type-matchup calculations and Pokédex browsing, searching, and type autofill work offline, including on first launch. The Pokédex uses a snapshot derived from PokéAPI that is bundled with the app; it does not request data from PokéAPI while you use it.

Settings, onboarding status, app-open counts used for Tip Jar reminders, reminder preferences, and TipKit display history are stored locally. Taipu does not upload this information, your selected types, or your Pokédex searches to a developer-operated server. The app does not synchronize settings between your iPhone and Apple Watch.

Other Apps

The optional Other Apps screen on iOS requires an internet connection. When you open it, the app requests:

A developer-authored app catalog from rlziii.com.
Public app metadata from Apple’s iTunes Lookup service, using the App Store identifiers in that catalog.
App artwork from Apple’s content-delivery network.

These catalog and artwork requests do not include your selected types, Pokédex searches, local settings, reminder counts, purchase history, or an app-generated user identifier. Standard network information, such as an IP address and HTTP request metadata, is available to the services handling the requests. The website’s hosting provider and Apple may process or retain operational or security logs under their own privacy practices.

Selecting an app opens Apple’s native App Store product view. Apple handles interactions with that view under its App Store privacy policy.

A network failure in Other Apps does not prevent you from using the offline matchup checker or Pokédex.

Optional tips

Tip Jar purchases are optional and are processed by Apple through StoreKit. Taipu uses Apple’s transaction results to verify and acknowledge purchases, but does not receive your payment-card details or upload your purchase history to a developer-operated server. Apple handles purchase, account, and payment information under its App Store privacy policy.
